Cooking with Coconut Oil, A Healthy Oil (Info Packed)

So as you may know , a couple of months ago I switched the cooking oil we use to Coconut oil, I was doing  research on different skin loving oils I of course came across Coconut oil & also discovered that it was a superior healthy oil with many uses, you can fry, saute, cook, & even bake! not to mention  you can use for skin & hair. I have fallen in love with cooking with this stuff. It comes in solid form but melts so easy to the touch & heat, yes it smells like coconut & kind of nutty but I have not experienced any of that flavor in my cooking. Coconut oil has a higher smoke point as well and a little goes a long way. i just take out a spoonful or half of spoon & go!

I wanted to  give you some facts on why you should think about trying coconut oil.

The following info, statements, facts is from the article " Coconut Oil benefits: when fat is good for you"
"The fact is, all saturated fats are not created equal.
The operative word here is "created," because some saturated fats occur naturally, while other fats are artificially manipulated into a saturated state through the man-made process called hydrogenation."
"Hydrogenation manipulates vegetable and seed oils by adding hydrogen atoms while heating the oil, producing a rancid, thickened substance that really only benefits processed food shelf life andcorporate profits -- just about all experts now agree, hydrogenation does nothing good for your health."

"It may be surprising for you to learn that the naturally occurring saturated fat in coconut oil is actually good for you and provides a number of profound health benefits, such as:

Improving your heart health.(3)
Boosting your thyroid. (4)
Increasing your metabolism.
Promoting a lean body and weight loss if needed.
Supporting your immune system. (5)

"Nearly 50 percent of the fat in coconut oil is of a type rarely found in nature called lauric acid, a "miracle" compound because of its unique health promoting properties. Your body converts lauric acid into monolaurin, which has anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-protozoa properties. (6)
Coconut oil is also nature's richest source of medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs), also called medium-chain triglycerides or MCTs. By contrast, most common vegetable or seed oils are comprised of long chain fatty acids (LCFAs), also known as long-chain triglycerides or LCTs.
LCTs are large molecules, so they are difficult for your body to break down and are predominantly stored as fat.
But MCTs (7) , being smaller, are easily digested and immediately burned by your liver for energy -- like carbohydrates, but without the insulin spike. MCTs actually boost your metabolism and help your body use fat for energy, as opposed to storing it, so it can actually help you become leaner."
"polyunsaturated fats, which include common vegetable oils such as corn, soy, safflower, sunflower and canola, are absolutely the worst oils to cook with.
Three primary reasons:
1) Cooking your food in omega-6 vegetable oils produces a variety of very toxic chemicals, as well as forming trans-fats. Frying destroys the antioxidants in oil, actually oxidizing the oil, which causes even worse problems for your body than trans-fats.
2) Most vegetable oils are GM (genetically modified), including more than 90 percent of soy, corn and canola oils.
3) Vegetable oils contribute to the overabundance of damaged omega-6 fats in your diet, throwing offyour omega-6 to omega-3 ratio. Nearly everyone in Western society consumes far too many omega-6 fats -- about 100 times more than a century ago -- and insufficient omega 3 fats, which contributes to numerous chronic degenerative diseases."

Sex,Women & this Culture just pisses me off sometimes

I swear.... I mean .... our older generation of women fought hard for respect & rights. Yet in our culture we subject ourselves to be sex objects willingly & we support brands & other crap that make us look like porn stars & tell us that we need to look like this or that. We have long running tv shows like The Newlywed game who over 90% of the questions asked pertain to sex & are sexual in nature, commercials that may look wholesome & innocent of course have sexual reference in it.  Chain restaurants are turning to have having girls dressed immodestly & skimpy to be waitress yet they claim ppl come for the "good food". These young women put themselves in a situation where mainly men comes & no hiding google you & "rape" you with their eyes, why? because we know men are visual & most women in this day in age are dumb asses & don't know their worth.

How to Get the Most out of your Candles (DIY)

I know you have a few if not many candle jars around the house with wax still there yet the wick is so short you can barely light it & even if you did it wouldn't stay lit for long. Well I found a way to get the most out of your expensive candles.  You don't have to stop using the candle just because the wick is done! enjoy the pics down below.
Step 1: Take your candle that you want to use. ( This candle may look full but its not as you will see in the next photo. )

3/14/13 ( So many Changes to blogging)

Well this has been an interesting week........ First Google announces that GFC will shut down after July 1st , then the FTC releases new guidelines for bloggers concerning sponsored reviews, & also new info on hosting giveaways, contests & such . Wow...

What does this mean for me? Well if you didn't know I am a Beauty blogger & I work alot with companies.  Companies like to sponsor my posts, etc so this is important news. I need to make sure I am following the law & guidelines. As far GFC goes, I had a feeling as did so many of other bloggers. I mean over a year ago when it was declared Wordpress wouldn't have GFC anymore there was much speculation that GFC would go for blogger as well.  I knew it was coming... I have to admit GFC was one of the reasons I liked blogger, yet I don't see myself leaving blogger, personally it fits & I like the simpleness of it .

Its just that us as bloggers have to find new services that fit us best to transfer our feeds to & to where our readers can easily follow & read our posts, because we would hate to lose you! The most popular feed we are all transferring too, is Bloglovin. I have always had an account... Its easy & it easily transfers the blogs you follow to it from GFC... They are def getting big business right now.

So what do I offer? Well for  the time being I will be using Bloglovin & Hellocotton. I hope that my current followers will continue to follow through these platforms.. I am looking at few others but these 2 are easy & have so many that are already on it, it makes it easier to have something that ppl are already used too.

The links are down below, just click the buttons & I will try to included them in every post to make it easy for you guys..
Dont forget that I am now taking Blog swaps & Ad spots for this blog, Blogs,Shops, etc are welcome!

Recipe: Beef Sausage & Peppers

Hello! I've been wanting to do a recipe post for a while but every time I cook I always forget the cam, & I want to take god pics so I don't use the phone..  So when cooking yesterdays dinner I remembered my camera & took pics while cooking.  Yay me ;)

This recipe is simple & I'm sure almost any man ( who is a meat eater ) will enjoy.  Its mixed & cooked with mixed peppers & mushrooms, of course you can add or subtract anything you choose to fit the needs/wants of your family. I served this over steamed white rice & it was mighty good, not to mention it didn't take long at all ( except for the rice which takes 45 mins in my steamer, but I used leftover rice from day before).

Let me know how yall like the pics & how I display the recipes, so I know if I should change it up! & let me know if you have made this or what you add or take away! Enjoy!

3/11/13 ( School is Over!)

Well this semester ended Sunday... I think I passed my classes expect math.. Im kind of disappointed in myself.. I gave up early on... I hate math.. I mean... I feel like im dumb or something when it comes to math. anyway.. Im glad this semester is over! Im so over writing papers, doing 3 -6 exams every week... im ready for a break... lol

Monday I just lazy, recorded some videos for YT, did a load of laundry... was just kind of lazy...  I expect to get some rest on Tuesday.. It was so nice NOT having to worry about getting school work done.

I kind of feel behind of taking care of the house so I need to get that in order.. Also Im anxious to spend  some quality weekend time with Mr. , past several weekends Ive been in the living room doing homework. last weekend I felt bad because during the week we dont spend much time together, so weekends are "our time" .  Since warm days are coming up, hopefully we can get some nice Day rides in ... a past time of ours..

So now I will be looking into when I want to go back to school. I may wait till fall but we shall see. I applied for Aid, so we shall see what comes.

Thank you to all of your for your words of encouragement.. really meant a lot...  So anyway.. how was yall weekends?

3/8/13 ( Lip balms, MVA & Finals)

So this is the last week of school I am so ready for it to be over.  I think I failed my math class basically... yup I said it.. stuff just didn't stick  & I just didn't get it & lets face it, I kind of gave up...   I have the final to do & I will do my best & take my time to do it. I hope I can at least pass.

I think I will pass my other classes though , God willing... Ill just be happy when Monday comes & I dont have to worry about all the work.. I am so over projects & what not.

This week was a challenging & kind of stressful week with the MVA, we had to get our car tags renewed but since the car is both our names & so is registration & Mr. having some issues with MVA we  have had an extra challenge.. Yet all things are done through God & most of that is handled.. just one last thing but I  have faith that all things in due time & it will be handled.

I feel like I labeled like 15,000 lip balms this week.. hahah I made several batches of new flavors & ones that sold out. I also ordered more labels so when they came in this week I labeled all of them. I also added a new product as well. Did I mention its Free Shipping on all $20 orders till March 15th?

3/6/13 ( A Year of this blog, Get ready for more)

First off Welcome to the Launch of! Thank you to all of my readers for this year..
I just looked at my post history & noticed that on the 3rd was my 1 year anniversary of Her Untitled blog.  In truth this blog has been up & running for about 4 years! This year has been such a growing time for this little blog.  I have grown in followers, have participated in more blog hops & been more stable...

I thank all of you who come back & read this little blog about my life & share my joys & frustrations with me.. Means alot.

So why the name change? Well even though I adore HerUntitled, I knew it was only temporary until I found where this blog was truly headed. I am proud that Her Untitled was alive for a whole year & it helped me find my direction.

I actually was going to name this blog SheisSantana before HerUntitled but I decided against it. I don't regret it. , it just wasn't time.  SheisSantana truly represents who I am as a whole because I am so many things.

Thank you to Melanie for doing such a great job on the design & I highly recommend her.. she is affordable & a pleasure to work with. please shop Indie & check her out here.

As I sit in my bed & type this post, Mr. is safely at home ( more on that later) & I am happy. I am excited about this blog & this year.. I just feel major changes coming... a Transition coming...
So I hope you stay tuned for the ride & feel free to look into sponsoring.. Also ShopCurlyGirlBeauty is offering Free Shipping till March 15th on all orders $20 or more!

See ya Later!

3/4/13 (Revamp)

Happy Monday..
So this past weekend, was Mr's birthday. It was pretty low key, we just went to his family house for dinner & to visit. I didn't get to make his cake but I will make it tomorrow.

I will be changing my blog look & name in the coming week or so.  The new Blog will be named "SheisSantana" Its been my twitter name for the longest while. Although I love Her untitled, I am changing. I feel this year is bringing change. This blog has been "Untitled" because I honestly didn't know what to name it.  I didnt feel connected to anything.  "SheisSantana" is who I am ... I am so many things & my name is one of them.

I plan on doing some changes & what not so just bear with me.  I would love to do like sponsors & blog swaps so let me know if yall are interested.

Major Transition is happening in my life & I would love to blog about it..... TTYL

3/1/13 ( All Things are Done through You)

You just know when a breakthrough is coming when it seems the world is against you. Things are not going your way & your stressed, losing sleep, praying everyday that a resolution comes soon.

Don't Stop praying... Remember that the break through is coming. .... & when it does, still don't stop praying...

God shows me more & more that he really does have control in my life & that If I just trust in him, he will really take care of my problems...

Our relationship has been blessed, every time we have had a struggle with something a breakthrough had always come... Right on Time too....

Today a break through came on something we have been praying on for months.  I wanted to cry because it would make things better... Of course a dream would be set back but then If its really suppose to happen the God will make it happen right?

This is a transition....... All Things are done through You God... You always take care of us.... continue to leave it up to him...

I am just thankful & we are just counting our blessings.....
You should too. There is always someone who has it worse then you... ALWAYS..... The little you have, be thankful, someone out there has NOTHING... Someone out there who has way less then is more thankful to have what they have...
